Protect your eyes: March is Save Your Vision Month. Avoid computer-related dry and other problems by positioning the monitor to avoid glare – or use a screen glare filter. Blink frequently while at the computer. Every 20 minutes, stare into the distance so that your eyes can refocus.

Jump-start your garden: Plant pansies, onions, peas and radishes as soon as the ground can be worked. Remove protective mulch a little at a time as roses and other plants bud out. Prune Shrubs that bloom in summer or fall.
Chase a comet: The recently discoverd PANSTARRS comet should be the brightest from about March 8 to March 12. Look for it after sunset in the western sky.
